Crawl Space encapsulation is done for a customer that had moisture in their crawl space, which causes their hardwood floors to cup.
This customer had an encapsulation installed in their crawl space by a company that no longer provides that service. They contacted Olympic Restoration Systems when they noticed that they had damage done to the liner, likely due to rodents in their crawl space. Since the damage had been done, they had to buy 3 dehumidifiers for inside of the home, to try and control the humidity. They wanted someone to provide them with an assessment and a quote for what it would take to repair the damage.
Olympic Restoration Systems was contacted for an assessment of their crawl space. We visited the property and proposed a quote to the customer. They proceeded with a sump pump replacement/installation of another sump pump, liner repair, and mold remediation for their crawl space.
This homeowner called after they noticed that their crawl space had moisture issues that was causing rust and other issues throughout their crawl space and home. One of our System Designs Specialists, Ross, went to the home for a free crawl space inspection and estimate. He found evidence of moisture issues throughout the crawl space, and presented the homeowner with a solution that would keep the crawl space dry. The homeowner accepted and proceeded with a full crawl space encapsulation from Olympic Restoration Systems.
This customer called stating that he believed his crawl space was leadning to multiple moisture issues throughout his home. He found mold on his ceiling and on his leather clothing, and he was running a dehumidifier contantly to no avail. We sent one of our System Designs Specialists, Tyler, to the property for a free estimate. After inspecting the crawl space, Tyler found further evidence of crawl space moisture issues. Tyler presented a soltution to encapsulate and condition the crawl space so that there would not be any more moisture issues. The homeowner accepted and proceeded with a crawl space remediation from Olympic Restoration Systems.
The production team started by removing debris from the crawl space and regrading the soil. This keeps water from pooling in low points of the crawl space floor. They sloped the soil so that water would flow to the sump pump. Next, they placed a SmartSump to drain water away from the crawl space. They then placed drainage matting underneath a CleanSpace vapor barrier on the crawl space floor to isolate the home from the earth. The drainage matting allows water to flow to the sump pump. The vapor barrier protects the crawl space and home from any moisture collecting in the sump pump. They closed off any outside air, from vents or any other opening, to keep the outside air from entering the crawl space. Finally, they placed a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier in the crawl space to dry any moisture from the air.
This customer called Olympic Restoration Systems for assistance regarding their crawl space entries. They have a pier and beam home that has a crawlspace entry, inside the home, that was too small for anyone to get through. They were interested in getting that crawl space entry made larger for them. They have 2 access points to the crawl space. One of them had just a metal slab up against the entry way. They wanted to turn that into a nicer entrance so that rodents do not get under their house.
Olympic Restoration Systems was contacted for an assessment of their home. We visited the property and proposed a quote to the customer. They proceeded with a crawl space hatch enlargement and debris removal from their crawl space.
