Wet, dirty and smelly crawl space before encapsulation and remediation.
This customer called because they did not have any access to their crawl space. It was covered up, with the island in the kitchen, during a remodel. They needed to have access to their crawlspace. They had a horrible smell that was coming from the AC vent in the kitchen, but could not get under the house to check it out. They thought that an animal might have gotten under the house and died.
Olympic Restoration Systems was contacted for an assessment of their home for a crawl space access door. We visited the property and proposed a quote to the customer. They proceeded with an installation crawl space access door for their home with Olympic Restoration Systems.
This customer called looking for a free estimate for crawl space repair. We sent one of our System Designs Specialists, Ross, to the property. Ross inspected the crawl space and found evidence of moisture issues that could lead to mold and foundation problems. Ross designed a system that would encapsulate the crawl space by isolating it from the earth and sealing off any outside air and presented it to the homeowner. The homeowner was impressed with the crawl space encapsulation pricing and design and proceeded with the work from Olympic Restoration Systems. The pictures shown are a before and after shot of the crawl space.
This customer noticed that their floors were starting to cup/warp. This prompted them to go into their crawl space to see if there was something going on down there that was causing the warping of their floors. Once in the crawl space, they noticed that they had a slow leak causing moisture problems. This was also causing mold to grow on the underneath side of their floors.

Our Production Team started by removing any debris and regrading the soil in the crawl space. Next they installed a SmartSump sump pump. They then installed a drainage matting and covered it with a CleanSpace vapor barrier. They sealed off any outside air from the crawl space, and finished by installing a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier.
