Mold caused by Crawl Space Moisture

Challenge

This homeowner kept noticing a musty smell in their home. Especially around the kitchen and bathroom area. Upon inspection, it was discovered mold had permeated both areas, originating from the crawl space. They contacted our team to help. 

Solution

Starting in the crawl space, we installed a plastic tub liner at the base, removing and disposing of any mold impacted duct insulation or debris. We then treated all mold impacted surfaces via HEPA vacuuming and applying an EPA registered antimicrobial solution.

Once inside the home, we set up a de-containment chamber and used a negative air scrubber both inside and out of the containment area. After cleaning what items would be salvageable and removing all affected materials, we HEPA vacuumed the exposed wall and ceiling cavities before HEPA vacuuming the entire contained area. Using an EPA registered antimicrobial solution, we cleaned the exposed cavities. The HVAC ducts, boots, and air registers were also cleaned leaving this homeowner a peace of mind knowing we took care of the mold issue.
