Crawl Space Remediation in Dallas, TX

Challenge

This homeowner received a complaint of a musty odor from a tenant living in one of his rent houses. The owner was concerned that the musty odor was coming from the crawl space of the home. One of our System Designs Specialists, Ross, went to perform an inspection on the crawl space and found evidence of moisture and humidity issues in the crawl space. Ross proposed a solution to fix the crawl space and the customer accepted.

Solution

The production team started by removing debris and regrading the soil in the crawl space. Then, they placed a DoubleSafe SmartSump sump pump to remove water from the crawl space. Next they placed a drainage matting on the floor of the crawl space and covered it with a CleanSpace vapor barrier. They wrapped the piers and walls in CleanSpace. Finally, they placed a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier to rid the crawl space air of any moisture. They finished by closing off the crawl space to keep the outside air from getting in the crawl space.
