Encapsulation Needed For Floor Remodel Irving, TX
Challenge
These homeowners prepared for a complete floor remodel due to their buckling and cupping floors. When they tore up the existing flooring, they noticed high moisture readings. They called our team to evaluate. Their crawl space had high humidity readings and condensation on the subfloor. The owners decided encapsulation was the best way to protect their new flooring.
Solution
First, our team re-graded the crawl space. Next, we installed an EZ flow pipe around the perimeter of the crawl space to capture incoming water and direct it to the sump pump. Afterward, we installed a SmartSump pump system with liner, cast iron pump, CleanPump Stand, airtight lid with an airtight floor drain and WaterWatch alarm system. CleanSpace drainage matting and a CleanSpace vapor barrier were placed along the ground, walls, and piers. A SaniDry dehumidifier was also used to assure the humidity in the crawl space was controlled and two wireless sensors were fastened to send temperature and humidity readings to a small panel inside the house.
