Mold Issues Beneath A Home
Challenge
A homeowner went on vacation and when they came back, they noticed a musty smell in their home. Searching everywhere, but unable to find the source, they looked beneath the crawl space and thought they saw mold growth. Our team was called to assess the situation and found considerable mold and high humidity.
Solution
Our team began by removing the mold. All the wood within the crawl space was cleaned with an EPA registered antimicrobial solution. Debris were removed and the crawl space was regraded to direct water seepage to a sump pump system. Next, we installed a SmartSump pump system with liner, cast iron pump, CleanPump Stand, airtight lid with an airtight floor drain, and WaterWatch alarm system. Another small pump was installed to move the water from the dehumidifier to the sump pump. A SanteFe dehumidifier was placed in the crawl space to control humidity. To keep the ground moisture and vapor from affecting the home, we used CleanSpace Drainage Matting under a CleanSpace liner. Additionally, two wireless sensors were installed to send temperature and humidity readings to a small panel inside the house. This customer could rest easy knowing their home was restored to a safe and comfortable level.
