Photo Album: How Crawl Space Encapsulation Prevents Warping Hardwood Floors

These photos are from a crawl space encapsulation system installed by Olympic Restoration Systems in Dallas, TX. This homeowner contacted us after he noticed that the hardwood floors in his home were gradually becoming uneven. He was concerned that the "cupping" floors were due to moisture issues in the crawl space. Crawl space moisture issues can cause mold growth, warping hardwood floors, increased allergies/asthma while at home, musty odors, and sticking windows/ doors. The only way to prevent moisture issues in the crawl space is to have a crawl space encapsulation system installed.   Our Production Team fixed the crawl space humidity issues by installing a drainage matting, CleanSpace vapor barrier, sump pump, and dehumidifier. The closed off any outside air to the crawl space by closing vents and sealing block walls. This turned the wet crawl space into a dry, conditioned area.
