Buckling Floors in Dallas, TX

Challenge

This homeowner called because she noticed that the hardwood floors in her house were buckling and warping. She was concerned that this could be stemming from a moisture problem in the crawl space. We sent a System Designs Specialist, Ross, to the home for a free crawl space estimate. Ross found evidence of moisture issues in the crawl space, and presented the homeowner a solution to keep her crawl space dry. The homeowner acccepted the proposal and proceeded with a crawl space encapsulation and repair from Olympic Restoration Systems.

Solution

The production team started by removing debris from the crawl space and regrading the soil. Next, they placed a SmartSump to drain water away from the crawl space. Next, they placed drainage matting underneath a CleanSpace vapor barrier on the crawl space floor to isolate the home from the earth. Finally, they placed a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier in the crawl space to dry any moisture from the air.
