Wet Crawlspace Concerns in Rockwall, TX
Challenge
This customer purchased a new home and did renovations. They replaced the floors and after a year noticed their new wood floor was cupping and buckling. After some research, they called the team at Olympic Restoration Systems to see if the underlying cause might be moisture in the crawl space.
Solution
Our team evaluated the situation and found the moisture levels in the crawl space to be high, along with condensation on the subfloor. We began by removing debris from the crawl space and installing a SmartSump pump system with liner, cast iron pump, CleanPump Stand, airtight lid with an airtight floor drain, and WaterWatch alarm system. CleanSpace drainage matting was placed on the dirt floor and covered with a CleanSpace liner. A SaniDry CX Air System was installed to keep the humidity low, along with a small sump pump to remove water from the dehumidifier and out of the crawl space. Two wireless sensors were placed in the crawl space to send temperature and humidity readings to a small panel inside the house.
