Any gaps or penetrations from the ceiling to the attic allow conditioned air from the home to leak into the attic. Sealing air leaks prevents conditioned air from escaping into unlivable space. 

Another attic service we offer is encapsulating duct work in the attic. Ducts in the attic have seams and joints that leak conditioned air into the attic, and they are not insulated well. Encapsulating air ducts makes the attic more energy efficient.

Old attic insulation, especially old fiberglass batting, is not safe and is not energy efficient. Old attic insulation is typically filled with dust, rodent droppings, and many other contaminants that reduce the air quality in the home and make the insulation inefficient. As a part of our attic services, we remove the old insulation and replace it with blown in cellulose insulation. Cellulose insulation is much more energy efficient, environmentally friendly, and has a Class-1 Fire Safety Rating.

When the hot sun beats down on the roof, the attic can hover around 120 degrees Fahrenheit. Installing radiant barriers will cool the attic as much as 20 degrees Fahrenheit.
