Lung Cancer Awareness
November is Lung Cancer Awareness month. According to the Lung Cancer Foundation of America, lung cancer kills more people each year than breast, prostate, and colon cancer combined. The leading cause of lung cancer is smoking, and the second is radon inhalation. At Olympic Restoration Systems, we want to do our part to spread awareness about radon-induced cancer prevention.
What is radon?
Radon is an odorless, colorless, tasteless gas that is created by the decay of uranium in rocks and soil. It comes up from the soil and gets trapped in homes and buildings. People are completely unaware that they could be inhaling radon gas.
Could radon be in my home?
Radon is found in all 50 states, and can be found in any type of building, new or old.
How do I know if radon is in my home?
The good news is, radon testing is easy and quick. We can test your home for radon, and if it is found, we have a solution for mitigating your home from radon.
I've been living in my home for so many years, why test it now?
Even if you have lived in your home for many years, mitigating your home from radon significantly lowers your chance of developing radon-induced lung cancer.
